Reese Gunsmithing

Overview

Reese Gunsmithing specializes in professional firearm services only. We do not sell firearms or state or federally regulated parts/accessories. Our work focuses on precision upgrades, repairs, maintenance, and customization. This policy reflects the service-based nature of our business.

Shipping Policy (Customer Firearms & Parts)

Inbound Shipping (Sending Your Firearm to Us)

  • Customers are responsible for shipping firearms to Reese Gunsmithing in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Firearms must be shipped:
    • Via a legal carrier (UPS or FedEx typically required for handguns)
    • Properly packaged, unloaded, and declared per carrier requirements
  • Including a copy of your contact information and service request inside the package is required.

Return Shipping (Firearms Returned to You)

  • Firearms will be returned in accordance with applicable laws:
    • Typically shipped directly back to the customer if legally permitted
    • In restricted states/locations, shipment may be required to a licensed FFL dealer
  • Adult signature and insurance are required for all firearm returns.

Turnaround Time

  • Standard services: 3–10 business days
  • Advanced work (barrel swaps, gas system work, diagnostics, custom fitting): 1–4 weeks
  • Customers will be notified if additional time is required.

Shipping Costs

  • Customers are responsible for:
    • Shipping to Reese Gunsmithing
    • Return shipping and insurance
  • Shipping costs are calculated based on carrier rates, package value, and service level.

Scope of Services (What We Work On)

Reese Gunsmithing provides services including, but not limited to:

  • AR-platform work (barrel changes, gas block installation, upper/lower assembly)
  • Full disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly
  • Diagnostics and function testing
  • Bore sighting and basic sight installation
  • Parts installation and upgrades

All work is performed with attention to safety, reliability, and performance.

Returns & Refunds Policy

Because Reese Gunsmithing is a service-based business, the following policies apply:

Non-Returnable / Non-Refundable

  • All labor and gunsmithing services once completed
  • Installed parts and modified components
  • Diagnostic fees

Once work has been performed, it cannot be “returned,” and labor charges are final.

Parts & Accessories

If Reese Gunsmithing provides or installs parts:

Eligible Returns (Uninstalled Parts Only)

  • Must be requested within 14 days of receipt
  • Item must be unused, uninstalled, and in original condition
  • Proof of purchase required

Non-Returnable Parts

  • Any part that has been installed, fitted, or modified
  • Special-order or custom-fit components

Restocking Fee

  • Approved returns may incur a 10–20% restocking fee

Workmanship Guarantee

We stand behind our work like a well-tuned trigger.

  • 30-Day Workmanship Guarantee on services performed
  • Covers defects directly related to installation or service

Does Not Cover:

  • Manufacturer defects in customer-supplied parts
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Improper use, abuse, or unauthorized modifications after service
  • Ammunition-related malfunctions

If an issue arises, contact us and we will make it right within the scope of our work.

Damaged, Lost, or Shipping Issues

  • Reese Gunsmithing is not responsible for damage occurring during inbound shipping
  • Return shipments are insured; claims for damage during return shipping will be handled with the carrier
  • Customers must report any issues within 48 hours of delivery

Cancellations

  • Work orders canceled after intake but before service may be subject to a bench/diagnostic fee
  • Once work has begun, labor charges apply based on progress completed
